WATCH: Are You Saved? Are You Sure?

How should a Catholic answer the question, “Are you saved?”

And how worried should a Catholic be without the “assurance” of salvation many Protestant faithful profess?

Jeff Cavins and Benedictine College theologian Andrew Swafford answer both those questions in the video announcement above.

They are discussing Swafford’s newest contribution to Ascension Press’s Great Adventure Bible: A course on the book of Romans.

The discussion takes place, says Cavins, at “Benedictine College, a school that is doing amazing things these days.”

In Romans: The Gospel of Salvation, Swafford explores St. Paul’s explanation of Jesus saved us for and what he saved us from.

The eight-session multimedia program provides historical context to the book, address the faith and works controversy, and unpacks the difficult passages in Romans.

“Dr. Swafford and Cavins explain that salvation is not merely the removal of a guilty verdict,” says Ascension Press. “Salvation is about entering into Christ’s life and death and sharing in his eternal sonship.”
