America’s Catholic Media Summit Cancelled

Note: This event has been CANCELLED due to the consistory Pope Francis has announced for Rome that weekend.

New President. New Media. Same Faith.

It is appropriate that I am writing to you on the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.

Life is changing rapidly for Catholics in America, and Benedictine College is gathering the nation’s top Catholics in the media to develop a response.

I’m inviting you to join the conversation.

America’s Catholic Media Summit” will take place Nov. 18 and 19 at Benedictine’s Atchison, Kansas, campus. Vatican journalist John Allen Jr. and EWTN anchor Raymond Arroyo will be on hand, with other leading journalists, to discuss the challenges posed by this pivotal year.

The tumultuous 2016 presidential race will have been decided by then, and the consequences will be enormous, no matter who is elected. How will it affect abortion? Marriage? Religious liberty?

America’s Catholic Media Summit, sponsored by the Gregorian Institute, will examine those questions. The Church has addressed the role of the media in two significant documents that will be our guide as we sort out what to do in this pivotal time.

The Cross always triumphs. It is just a question of how.

I hope to see you there!
